Understanding how Pathzero Navigator helps you identify potential carbon risk

Deal screening on Pathzero Navigator is a unique feature that allows you to understand the emissions of a potential investment before it is made. It also allows you to understand how the potential investment will impact the emissions profile of your current portfolio, by allowing you to overlay the potential asset on any existing collection.

Here's how using the deal screening feature will allow you to analyse a potential investment in different ways:

Asset level

At the asset level, it is possible to analyse the potential investment by emission scope and category. This allows you to see the profile of emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3 and then to further delve into the 21 underlying greenhouse gas emission categories that make up scopes 1-3.

By understanding the potential source of emissions in an investment – such as purchased electricity or waste – an investor can be more informed as to the type and scale of carbon risk associated with the investment, as well as any decarbonisation action that may be required if the investment is made.

Collection level

The deal screening feature then takes it a step further by allowing you to analyse the impact of the potential investment on the emissions profile of any existing collection. You can easily visualise the net emissions impact to that collection, helping you understand whether the potential investment aligns with your emission targets or ambitions.

At the collection level, it is possible to analyse the impact of the potential investment by sector, company, scope, country or category.

Informed Decision-Making

Armed with this detailed and flexible information, you can make informed decisions regarding potential investments. Whatever your climate goals, Pathzero Navigator's deal screening feature empowers you to align your decisions with your carbon risk appetite and emissions objectives.
