Creating an asset in Pathzero Navigator

This article provides detail on how to create an asset in Pathzero Navigator.

Pathzero Navigator currently supports the creation of collections or funds for analysis covering four asset types. They are: 

  • Private company
  • Listed company
  • Project
  • Commercial real estate (CRE)

How to create a 'Private company' or 'Listed company' asset type


When creating a ‘Private company’ or ‘Listed company’ asset type, follow the steps below
  1. Open ‘Collections’ from the main menu at the top of the screen. Select an existing collection, or create a collection. Learn more about creating and editing a collection here.
  2. Once the collection is open, select ‘Add an asset’.  
  3. Select ‘Create new asset’ from the drop-down menu. 
  4. Enter the asset details as outlined below:

    Asset name: please choose something unique and understandable to anyone outside of the organisation that requests to view the data.

    Type of asset: as noted above there are four asset types including private company, listed company, project, and commercial real estate.


  5. Enter the primary country of operations.  


    1. Select the primary industry group of operations.

      Learn more about the importance of EEIO to gain a PCAF estimate. Select GICS sub-industry mapping to reach EEIO look-up.
    2. Enter the GICS industry group, GICS industry, and GICS sub-industry, to reach the EEIO sector.  Select GICS sub-industry mapping to reach EEIO look up.
    3. Select ‘Choose this sector’. 

  6. Once selected, review the inputs and then select ‘create asset’. 
     
  7. Once the asset is created it will sit in the collection as below. To edit the asset click 'Details'

How to create a 'Project' asset type


When creating a 'Project' asset type, follow the steps below

  1. Open ‘Collections’ from the main menu at the top of the screen. Select an existing collection, or create a collection. Learn more about creating and editing a collection here.
  2. Once the collection is open, select ‘Add an asset’.  
  3. Select ‘Create new asset’ from the drop-down menu. 
  4. Enter the asset details as outlined below:

    Asset name: please choose something unique and understandable to anyone outside of the organisation that requests to view the data.

    Type of asset: as noted above there are four asset types including private company, listed company, project, and commercial real estate.

  5. Select the ‘Project type’ from the list.

  6. Enter the primary country of operations.
  7. The GICS sub-industry mapping is pre-populated based on the 'Project type’ selection above. Click ‘Edit sector’ to make an EEIO sector selection. 

    1. Select from the available EEIO sectors most appropriate for your project type.

  8. Review the inputs and then select ‘Create asset’
  9. Once the asset is created it will sit in the collection as below. To edit the asset click 'Details'

How to create a 'Commercial real estate' asset type 


When creating a ‘Commercial real estate (CRE)’ asset type, follow the steps below

  1. Open ‘Collections’ from the main menu at the top of the screen. Select an existing collection, or create a collection. Learn more about creating and editing a collection here.
  2. Once the collection is open, select ‘Add an asset’.  
  3. Select ‘Create new asset’ from the drop-down menu. 
  4. Enter the asset details as outlined below:

    Asset name: please choose something unique and understandable to anyone outside of the organisation that requests to view the data.

    Type of asset: as noted above there are four asset types including private company, listed company, project, and commercial real estate.

  5. Enter the primary country. Please note that additional regional detail is required for assets in Australia, Canada and the US, such as the zip code of operations.
  6. Review the inputs and select ‘Create asset’
  7. Once the asset is created it will sit in the collection as below. To edit the asset click 'Details'

Removing an asset from an existing collection 

To remove an asset from an existing collection, watch this short video or follow the steps below: 

 

  • Open the collection that the asset should be removed from.
  • Select the ‘three dots’ and choose to ‘Remove from collection’ or ‘Delete asset’.

When to remove or delete an asset from a collection 

Remove from collection: This asset will be removed from the collection. It will still exist on other collections where it has been added.

Delete asset: This asset will be deleted from this collection and any other collections it existed in. Once deleted it cannot be added to another collection.
