How are co-working emissions calculated?

This article summarises the key parameters used in the Pathzero model to calculate emissions from co-working

Co-Working
Emissions from working in a shared office space are to be included in an organisation's Scope 3 emissions. As your organisation does not have direct control over the operation of the co-working space, only emissions from the electricity used by your staff are included in your emissions inventory.

The Calculation Method
The Pathzero calculation method for estimating co-working emissions accounts for electricity used by both laptop computers and mobile phones. An average electricity consumption for both is used to estimate emissions from co-working as follows.

GHG = (kW consumption from mobile equipment * # co-working FTE * days co-working * average hours worked per day) * emission factor
